Instead of making you go to school why don't they just have you go through wikipedia pages for like 2 hours a day? You would probably be learning way more and you could actually pay attention to things that you are actually interested in instead of some crap your never gonna use like chemistry (unless you want to be a doctor or a meth dealer which still you can just learn how to do on wikipedia)

I'm serious they spend like I don't even know how much on school books every single week updating them and then charging you a billion dollars every time they do it, if there's a ton of stuff to learn about something you might as well just go to Wiki because its always getting new info, plus you don't even have to pay for it. I don't get why people didn't think about this sooner unless they just want to keep you in school to make you learn about evolution (which doesn't even make sense when you actually look at it) and a ton of dead presidents every year. I mean every year we're always learning about them it's like some kind of patriotism thing they have going on. I think that if I am gonna go to someone's school they told me to go to they might as well teach me something I want to learn and not the things I don't wanna learn like it would be kind of cool if they taught you how to move stuff with your mind but good luck with that I guess, they pretty much just want to make you boring by boring you alot.

And I don't know about you guys but if I had to be boring every single day, then instead, I just wouldn't.

The biggest things are Presidents and Evolution like I said. They make you learn about this pretty much every year. And Hitler and what he did to the Jews. They don't even tell me who the Jews are, I pretty much know nothing about these Jews except that Hitler did some bad stuff to them. I don't think Hitler was a great guy or anything but if someone would at least tell me who the heck the Jews are then it would make a lot more sense about why he seemed to not like them so much. I know like maybe 3 things about Jewism but that's it. They seriously don't do a good job when they explain the entire World War 2.

But seriously that would be a great idea, getting people to read Wikipedia more instead of going to school. Maybe then we wouldn't be so bored in the middle of some classroom where some teacher is standing there telling you about Hitler and the Presidents and the Evolution and the Jews that doesn't even make any sense while your just looking out the window saying "Holy crap I wish I was reading Wikipedia right now!"

I think they just need to have plans for your learning that you can actually pick and choose more instead of having to take the same kind of lessons everyone else takes if you don't actually care about them.

I'm afraid that your idea is too flawed for words.

The problem with that is, while I love Wikipedia and use it for pretty much everything, some information isn't always right.
Most of the pages I've seen are missing citations so what's been posted is questionable.
It's like MapQuest, you can't always trust it completely or it'll tell you to go somewhere that doesn't exist.

School is kind of the same though, if you actually look at history and then look at what school is teaching you then you find out that you are getting like 1% of that part of history because its just the opinion they want you to have and not actually what happened there.

Huh, so it wouldn't make much of a difference either way?
Wikipedia replacing school is suddenly a much more appealing situation.

Pretty interesting theory.
But what would the teachers and staff do? They'd all lose their jobs. How are they going to pay for their families? Plus, what about misleading information? It IS Wikipedia, but not everything on there is the truth. Trust me.

That's the same way with school though, I mean just look at the stuff they were trying to teach in Kansas [link]

Basically they're trying to say that instead of evolution that they want to teach that "something definitely had to create everything but we have no idea what that is" which is basically like telling these kids that they have to pick some kind of religion if they want to be OK in the world of science.
